Hog Island Enters a Three-Year Commitment with AEG Media as their Equipment Sponsor

Portland, OR (June 4, 2008)—Over the next three years Hog Island has committed to be the Equipment Sponsor for AEG Media in both the film production series and the Fly Fishing Film Tour.

Hog Island Boat Works manufactures the World’s only roto-molded drift boat. Their drift boat hulls are molded as one seamless piece with a plug and play platform for accessories for fishing and multi-days. This is the World’s largest manufactured skin-foam-skin part. This cutting-edge manufacturing process took Hog Island nearly three years to perfect and the result is an awesome unsinkable drift boat that absorbs impacts quietly, and handles true on the water. “I came up with the concept after banging around in other drift boats, and scaring off fish in the process,” says company president John St. John.

Due to Hog Island’s wide bottom design, soft chine and smooth nature of plastic, their boats are stable in cross currents, and don’t swim at anchor. This is a four-wheel drive sports car in the river that is comfortable running extremely low technical water, bouncing through big waves, and sailing over drops.

AEG is dedicated to using Hog Island’s gear, over the next three years, in all film productions as well as promoting their product line on the film tour.

AEG Media is an adventure media company based in Merlin, OR whose enterprise includes an annual film tour event and feature films. They believe in catch and release and are avid members of 1% For The Planet, AFFTA, Trout Unlimited and Federation of Fly Fishers. Their mission is to revolutionize the world of fly-fishing one epic adventure at a time.

Army of Fish Bums – A Message from Soldiers in Iraq

From: MAJ Chip Giles

I received the box of t-shirts and videos you sent over. Hooah! Man, that fishing trip in Patagonia was great! I only wish I could make the same trip. I actually enjoyed the deleted footage as much as the regular movie.

I am looking forward to watching the Kiwi Camo video next.

The photo attached is me, (handsome devil on the left), and LTC Paul Huszar. He was my boss earlier in the deployment. We have spent a good bit of time B.S.ing about fly fishing as a momentary diversion to the days. LTC Huszar is the Operations Officer in the 20th Engineer Brigade (Airborne). I am the Construction Operations Officer in the 1203D Engineer Battalion. We are part of a group of Great Americans that are building things all across a good portion of Iraq and making good things happen.

I am seeking out the other trout bums here who will enjoy the swag. I will make sure the videos and t-shirts get in the right hands.

We appreciate your kindness and generosity. I hope you will pass this on to all who are involved in your projects.

Best of luck,

MAJ Chip Giles

From: LTC Paul Huszar, P.E.

Thanks so much for thinking of us!!! I am truly looking forward to the videos – exactly what the doctor ordered. I’m on month 8 of 15 months deployed in Iraq (second tour, also) running 16 hour days with a half day off on Sundays and can’t wait to make some time to watch the videos.

I’m an avid angler after my father-in-law made a rod for me nearly ten years ago, taught myself through great pain and suffering the first several months, then hit Yellowstone in route to a temporary duty station driving across country. Hired a guide and life has not been the same since. My father-in-law and I have now become great fishing buddies and every summer since then (when I’m not deployed) we take a family vacation to a fly-fishing destination.

We hit Vermont and the Battenkill this past summer before I deployed and have done Yellowstone, hiked into Yosemite, northern California near Tahoe, northern New Mexico, North Carolina mountains, and a few others – a true passion and great stress relief from Army life in the middle of a crystal clear stream. Only my wife and kids can excite me as much as a good rise on a dry fly!

Thanks again, truly! I certainly appreciate the gesture of support.

Most sincerely,

LTC Paul Huszar, P.E.

Thule Commits with AEG Media as an Equipment Sponsor

(Merlin, Ore., Feb. 04, 2008)—Thule has committed to be an Equipment Sponsor for AEG Media for this year’s Fly Fishing Film Tour.

Founding member Ake Skeppner’s initial success was found in the small but growing sport of windsurfing where a strong, reliable roof rack was an indispensable piece of equipment. This was quickly followed by success in the ski business where Thule’s Swedish heritage certainly helped the product gain rapid acceptance.

From this decision grew the strategy to design and manufacture products in the USA for the US market. Since this time, the company has grown rapidly through product innovation, a commitment to quality and the continuance of a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Into the year 2000 and beyond, Thule continues to evolve their products to meet the need of users.

AEG is glad to have Thule as an equipment sponsor for the Fly Fishing Film Tour.

Volvo is a sponsor for the 2008 Film Tour

Portland, OR (January 04, 2008)— The crew from AEG will be driving a new 2008 XC90 as they make their journey across the U.S.

According to Gustaf Larson and Assar Gabrielsson, Volvo’s founders, “Cars are driven by people. The guiding principle behind everything we make at Volvo, therefore, is – and must remain – safety.” These days other things drive them, too; a desire to build cars that are less damaging to the environment; cars that make excitement the rule, rather than the exception; and above all, a commitment to delivering premium quality and innovative design; for their drivers, for their passengers, for everyone, for life.

AEG is excited to be teaming up with Volvo, their high quality vehicle will get the crew to each scheduled film tour destination and will be show cased outside the city venues.
