Fish Bum 2: The Journey

Beginning in early 2008, the crew at AEG Media is hitting the road once again, this time searching for the legendary northwest steelhead. Armed with three HD cameras, a bio-diesel suburban, and a silver house on wheels, the crew will spend four months in the field, floating, hiking, and exploring some of the best steelhead streams in the world. AEG has selected exciting destinations in Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon to film their next journey. They will be keeping their blog current with up-to-date action and will also be recording a series of pod-casts live from the field. The project will be shot in the spring and fall of 2008 with a release date of December 15th, 2008 just in time for the holidays.

Fishbum 2: The Journey will follow four anglers up and down the Pacific Coast in search of steelhead. A team comprised of two men and two women will lead the charge into the unknown, finding out first hand why the fish have addicted so many. Follow the group as they live riverside for months, battle the sometimes harsh coastal weather patterns and see the satisfaction first hand as each fish is brought to shore.

With previous expeditions to far off destinations such as Iceland, Argentina, New Zealand, and recently a two-month stint in Mongolia, this will be the first time the AEG team has undertaken a project stateside. The relative proximity to the AEG base camp in Merlin, Oregon will allow the crew to film in ways they never have before. With the help of camera cranes, dollies, and high line rope systems, this film will have some of the most technical and stunning angles of steelhead fly fishing ever captured.

Though the film will be focused on the adventure and excitement of the trip, there will be time taken to highlight the serious issues facing steelhead in today’s changing world. With help from the Wild Steelhead Coalition a group dedicated to restoring runs of wild steelhead in the northwest, AEG hopes to bring awareness to the declining steelhead runs found up and down the Pacific Coast. The team will be conducting interviews and spending time with a number of fisheries biologists as well as members of the concerned community to better understand the problems and portray them to viewers.

So prepare yourself for the steelhead journey of a lifetime. Check www.aegmedia.com/blog/tbd/ for up-to-date information and stay tuned for the release of Fishbum 2: The Journey in December 2008.
