Future Projects

Extirpating Steelhead

Beginning in early 2008, the crew at AEG Media is hitting the road once again, this time searching for the legendary northwest steelhead. Armed with three HD cameras, a bio-diesel suburban, and a silver house on wheels, the crew will spend four months in the field, floating, hiking, and exploring some of the best steelhead streams in the world. AEG has selected exciting destinations in Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon to film their next journey.

The AEG crew will work side by side with the Wild Steelhead Coalition to expose the over harvest, habitat degradation, poor hatchery practices, construction of impassable barriers to migration, and misguided management strategies have all contributed significantly to the decline, and in some cases extinction, of wild fish runs.

Exploring Mayaguana

In May 2008, the AEG crew will be heading to Island of Mayaguana. Reef and Blue water fishing will provide a challenge and a great way to relax after the chasing steelhead and an exhausting film tour. Located at the south eastern edge of the Bahamas archipelago, Mayaguana Island is one of the most pristine of The Bahamas’ Out Islands. The sleepy island outpost, ringed by three sides of magnificent coral reefs, boasts over 320 days of sunshine, cooling trade winds, and miles of unspoiled beaches. At 110 square miles, Mayaguana is virtually unexplored and that is why we are going.

Christmas on Christmas

Directly south of the Hawaiian Islands, sitting just 119 miles above the equator sits a fly fishing paradise of epic proportions. Bonefish have made Christmas Island a favorite among traveling anglers, but there is much more to the world’s largest coral atoll. Beginning in December of 2008, AEG Media crew plans to spend 6 weeks hunting the flats of Christmas Island with the sole mission of going to battle with the world’s largest “Giant Trevally”.
